Building a secure and scalable authentication system requires both precision and architectural foresight. The Backend Engineer will take ownership of developing a complete identity management solution using Node.js and Express, ensuring that user data is protected at every step.
The system will be designed to handle various authentication methods, including JWT (JSON Web Tokens) for session management and secure API access. Scalability will be a key focus to support a growing user base without compromising performance.
Integration with MongoDB will allow efficient storage and retrieval of user data, role definitions, and session tokens. Proper indexing and schema design will ensure quick lookups while maintaining strong consistency.
Security protocols will be enforced through encryption, input validation, and token verification processes. Every API endpoint will be protected against unauthorized access and common vulnerabilities such as XSS, CSRF, and injection attacks.
The engineer will also develop password recovery, multi-factor authentication, and account verification mechanisms to enhance user security.
Collaboration with frontend teams will ensure smooth data flow during login, registration, and user profile interactions. All authentication endpoints will be documented clearly for seamless integration across different platforms.
