Description
Educational explainer videos should feel simple but never simplistic. The challenge lies in translating complex information into content that students can grasp without effort.
The animator’s role will be to take scripts and ideas, then transform them into sequences that flow smoothly from start to finish. Storyboarding will help establish the rhythm and narrative arc before animation begins.
Compositing is expected to be a big part of this project. Multiple visual layers—text, graphics, icons, or even 3D objects—need to come together seamlessly, so the audience experiences clarity rather than clutter.
Sometimes a straightforward 2D style will do the job. Other times, subtle use of 3D animation may add depth and help explain difficult concepts more effectively.
Editing won’t just be about cutting scenes together. It will involve careful timing to match visuals with voiceover tracks, as well as choosing transitions that feel natural for an educational audience.
Software flexibility is important. The animator should feel equally comfortable working in After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Final Cut Pro. Each tool may serve a different purpose within the same workflow.
Consistency across the entire video series is key. Even when lessons cover completely different topics, the visuals should feel like they belong to the same family.
