Freelancer Wanted to Audit and Clean Up Our Codebase
Skills Required
Description
We’re looking for a skilled and detail-oriented freelancer to help us audit and clean up our existing codebase. Over time, our project has evolved across multiple contributors, resulting in some inconsistencies, redundant code, and unclear structure. Your job will be to identify those problem areas, propose optimizations, and implement clean, maintainable solutions.
The project is built with a mix of WordPress, JavaScript, and MongoDB, with integrations involving external APIs and Google Analytics. It also includes various design elements handled through Figma and Adobe XD, and content that spans UX, illustration, and web copy. This role requires someone with a holistic understanding of both frontend and backend architecture, with a passion for performance and clean structure.
You will be expected to review code related to frontend UI, plugin behavior, page speed, and user experience design. Any unnecessary components should be flagged and removed or optimized. We want someone who can bring best practices and suggest improvements, not just follow instructions.
You’ll work directly with our lead product owner and occasionally collaborate with our design and content teams. We expect good documentation and a clear explanation of changes made to ensure long-term sustainability of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit the current WordPress and JavaScript-based codebase
Identify redundant files, scripts, and logic
