Translate Product Manual from English to French – Technical Terms Included
Skills Required
Description
The product manual we need translated is roughly 25 pages, written in English, and includes a mix of instructional text, interface descriptions, and some lightly technical terminology. We’re not looking for word-for-word — we need natural, accurate French that still respects the structure and tone of the original.
This manual is used by customers who aren’t super technical, so the language should be easy to follow. That said, you’ll come across terms like “firmware,” “sync interval,” “device pairing,” and UI button labels. If you’re not comfortable translating these properly, this probably isn’t the right fit.
We’ve had issues in the past with freelancers using machine translation. Please don’t — we’ll know. We want a native French speaker who can deliver a human-quality result that reads smoothly.
You’ll be working from a Google Doc and we’ll handle formatting later, so your main focus is translation only. Ideally, you can leave a few translator notes if you decide to adjust phrasing in any major way.
Timeline is about 7–10 days for the full draft. We're flexible on revisions, but would appreciate someone who can deliver the first version without a lot of back-and-forth.
