Running into a bit of a bottleneck with Stripe Webhooks in my Express.js application and could really use the help of someone experienced. The goal is to properly handle various events like successful payments, subscription updates, and failed charges in real-time, and ensure they trigger the appropriate backend logic.
The current setup already includes basic Stripe configuration and API keys, but I need help wiring up the webhook routes securely. Proper event validation and response handling is critical, especially since this is tied to key workflows like user upgrades and invoicing.
I’m using Express.js and Node.js for the backend, and while some groundwork is there, the webhook implementation needs to be done professionally to avoid any unexpected issues in production.
Also hoping you can provide guidance or suggestions on best practices around webhook security — particularly signature verification and fallback handling in case of missed events.
The app is currently in a staging environment, so you’ll have full access to test things safely before we go live. Deployment will happen on a Linux server, so familiarity with deploying webhook endpoints in that environment would be appreciated.
