Need Backend Dev to Optimize MongoDB Queries and Indexing

Getting frustrated with slow MongoDB queries on a project that shouldn’t be this heavy. I've got a Node.js backend running fine overall, but certain routes are dragging — and I’m pretty sure poor indexing is to blame.

What I need is someone who knows MongoDB inside and out, especially when it comes to optimizing queries, choosing the right indexes, and making sure everything runs smoothly under load. You won’t be building new endpoints — just diving into what’s already there and making it faster.

This is more of a cleanup and performance tuning gig. There are about 5–6 collections that need attention, with a few nested queries and aggregations that seem to be causing delays. Logs are available, and I can walk you through where the slowdown happens.

If you’re someone who enjoys getting into the technical weeds and cleaning up backend performance issues, this will be a nice challenge. Would love to see examples of similar work if you’ve tackled this before. No rush on deadlines — just want it done right.
